SUN SALUTATIONS FOR THE NEW NORMAL: MY FIFTEEN MINUTES. BAKERSFIELD MUSEUM OF ART. VISUAL ARTS FEST BEST IN SHOW. Digital photographic collage. The theme is Looking Up. In this a child is perched on a machine, Bradbury-esque recalling the mechanical dog in F451, or the nursery walls in The Veldt. Or, Bradbury's All Summer in a Day. Perhaps the girl is gazing at the sun in wonder because she is allotted 15 minutes a week? month? or year? to experience the actual sun. Is earth that toxic? The farm field is around the corner from my house and one day I discovered that magnificent piece of machinery driving around in it. The girl was at an aquarium in Vancouver, B.C., and the sun was in Africa on the Zambezi I believe.

BECAUSE SHE BLOOMS JURIED SHOW VISUAL ARTS FEST BAKERSFIELD MUSEUM OF ART 12x12, photo on canvas, Theme: Sublime. What could be more sublime than a single rose, in all its simplicity, hiding its complexity and mystery? Angelus Silesius says it best: "The rose is without an explanation. She blooms because she blooms."

DREAMS OF MORRISON EXHIBITED SQUARE FOOT BASEL MIAMI. 12X12. Photo on canvas. Young man dozing off in the motel room Jim Morrison always rented at the Alta Cienega Motel when he was in Los Angeles. This room is no longer rented but is kept as a sort of monument to Morrison.

SINGS MY LIFE STORY-JURIED EXHIBIT, VISUAL ARTS FEST BAKERSFIELD MUSEUM OF ART, THEME SUBLIME. digitally manipulated photo on canvas. I took this photo in Budrio at the International ocarina festival. The streets were lined with booths full of ocarinas and musicians were playing everywhere. I felt like I was walking through magic clouds of music and it was sublime.

TO KNOW. JURIED SHOW BAKERSFIELD MUSEUM OF ART VISUAL ARTS FEST. THEME- SUBLIME. 12x12. Photo on canvas. On top of a hill in Bologna, Italy, sits the San Luca Sanctuary built in 1723. In the 12th century a pilgrim from Constantinople left the Haiga Sofia with an icon of the Virgin and felt called to carry her until he was shown the way. He ended up on the hilltop where the San Luca Sanctuary now sits. The Virgin is ensconced here and I thought of her with the theme of Sublime. "To know, to know, to love her so." The first line from Virgil Thompson's opera Four Saints in Three Acts.

FIELD OF DREAMS. SQUARE FOOT BASEL MIAMI. JURIED SHOW BAKERSFIELD MUSEUM OF ART VISUAL ARTS FEST 12X12. Photo on canvas. A farmworker in Kern County is putting up a temporary fence to hold sheep.

RUMBLE SEAT SELFIE. SQUARE FOOT BASEL MIAMI. JURIED SHOW BAKERSFIELD MUSEUM OF ART. 12x12. Photo on canvas. This is a recreation of my sisters meeting my husband when we went in his Model A Ford, to pick them up at a bus station when we were in collage. They thought he was pretty cool so I took a second look. The rest is history.
